Vice Mayor of Taipei City, Mr. Chen Weiren, has been awarded with “Special Award for National Contribution 2012”
Great news for Taipei City Government! Vice Mayor of Taipei City, Mr. Chen Weiren, has been awarded with “Special Award for National Contribution, FIABCI-Taiwan Real Estate Excellence Award 2012”. TCG’s “Shezi Bridge Project” team has also been awarded with “Best Construction Quality, FIABCI-Taiwan Real Estate Excellence Award 2012” from FIABCI-Taiwan.
FIABCI-Taiwan’s Real Estate Excellence Award is the highest honor one can achieve on building constructions. The purpose of Real Estate Excellence Award is to praise and encourage those who have made remarkable contribution to national public constructions or civil buildings. The award also hopes to raise the quality of Taiwan’s constructions and living environment.
The reason for Vice Mayor Chen and Taipei City Government receiving the Real Estate Excellence Award is that TCG understands the expectation of its citizens. They are committed to improve urban construction in order to raise environmental quality. TCG’s effort is not only about constructing more software/hardware for industries, but emphasizing the happiness and quality of life one gets when living in Taipei City. When facing the situation of the aging population with low birth rate, TCG’s public rental housing has taken some of the load off the families of the younger age. Encouraging the younger generation would energize our society. The Urban Regeneration Station was established to be the spark that ignites the frequent cooperation between the local governments. In order to create more suitable space for citizen activities, TCG cleaned up Tamsui River and the riverside. There is a nonstop development of the technology industrial park. TCG hopes to foster cultural and creative industries by bringing in more industrial activities. Transportation policies were achieve by increased MRT covered areas, the smooth and leveled roads, and organized arcades. Taipei City has successfully hosted the DesignExpo. Taipei museum has demonstrated Taipei City’s ability on spatial design.
Commissioner of Department of Urban Development, Taipei City, Ding Yuhchyurn, stated that Taipei City has accumulated experiences for world class event over the years. For instance, 2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition and 2011 World Design Expo were both great opportunities to introduce Taipei City to the world. The undergoing preparation 2017 Universiade and the undergoing election 2016 World Design Capital are both motivation for Taipei City to continuously improve the city’s public facilities, city landscape, and most importantly, citizens’ quality of life. Connecting Taipei City to international events will introduce Taipei to the world and allow the world to embrace Taipei.
