Taipei City has been invited to 2013 Internationale Bauausstellung Hamburg, Germany to present the topic “From Urban Regeneration Station to Urban Regeneration Village”
Taipei City has been invited to 2013 Internationale Bauausstellung (IBA) Hamburg, Germany to present the topic “From Urban Regeneration Station to Urban Regeneration Village”. Hope by participating in this exhibition, more cultural information could be exchanged.
Taipei City has started working on Urban Regeneration Station projects since 2010. The city has followed the principle of “Soft Urbanism” and the concept of “Urban Acupuncture” in order to find a way to work with the citizens and create a creative sustainable city. Urban regeneration is a major issue in the field of urban development around the world. IBA is a world-known exhibition for urban regeneration strategies, and Taipei City has been greatly approved by invited to this exhibition.
IBA is a world-known exhibition that’s very important to global urban development and construction industry, and it has been hosted for more than a century. The outcomes of the current urban regeneration projects will be presented in the exhibition. Meanwhile, the International Garden Exhibition (IGS), an exhibition with IBA theme, will be opened at the same time and it decorates the island Wilhelmsburg into a 21st Century Metro Park. Museum für Hamburgische Geschichte is the place where the IBA is holding. It’s an early 20th Century building, and the building has experienced the changes from past to nowadays. IBA is worth to visit.
Hope that the participation of many Asian countries will deepen the communication between cities around the world. This exhibition is hold in the Museum für Hamburgische Geschichte from August 2nd to September 29th. There is an opening ceremony on August 1st and Taipei Forum on August 2nd.
