FIABCI-Taiwan has once again awarded Mayor Hau Lung-bin and his administration team members for the MRT Xinyi Line Daan Park Station with FIABCI Prix d’Excellence Awards.
The Taiwan Real Estate Excellence Award by FIABCI-Taiwan is considered the highest honor given to construction and architecture. The spirit and the purpose of the award is to recognize those in the industry-academic-government alliance who eagerly invest in the state-owned public transportation and privately owned architecture with their knowledge and expertise, thereby elevating the comprehensive construction and living quality in Taiwan. Mayor Hau is happy that his team received the honor once again in realization that the residents have great expectations about superior living environment. Thus, more efforts are dedicated to urban development so that Taipei City can be well on its way to become a diverse, sustainable, convenient and friendly city. Many public constructions are being carried out, including Taipei Performing Arts Center, MRT network, green ecological parks and other related construction. All these serve as foundation of Taipei becoming an international city.
Mayor Hau also pointed out that the public services offered by Taipei City Government also received international acclaim. These include the 1999 Citizen Hotline, the YouBike system, Taipei Free wireless connection, and numerous thoughtful services at the MRT; all of which act as the learning model for other big cities. In the future, projects such as FTTH and city cloud system will be implemented to transform Taipei into an international high-tech city. On the other hand, Taipei has been hosting mega events such as 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo, 2011 Taipei World Design Expo, two of which have received international praise. In addition, 2016 is the year when Taipei will be hosting two other major events – the World Design Capital and the Velo-city Global: It is the first Asian city to have received this honor to become the host city. All these important events enrich the international standards of Taipei, allowing Taipei to be seen in the world and letting the world get to know Taipei!
