What’s your suitable dwelling unit in Taipei City Public Rental Houses? Find out by visit model houses
Taipei City Government had opened the model houses of public rental houses to the public from 8th June (Sat) to 16th June (Sun) at Taipei Songshan Cultural and Creative Park to bring them experiences of living in public rental houses.
In order to alleviate the housing problems of low income young people, Taipei City Government is actively promoting public rental housing policy. “Taipei City Public Rental Houses dwelling units simulation Exhibition” themed “Smart Living Decent Life” hosted by Department of Urban Development, Taipei City Government and Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei City Government is aimed to find the most suitable dwelling spaces for these low income young people. The exhibition has invited professionals to build the model houses with most suitable dwelling unit area. These model houses open to the public to bring them experiences of living in public rental houses.
There are three room types in the current constructing Public Rental Houses, which are one-room type (Indoor area of approximately 8.5 square meters), two-rooms type (Indoor area of approximately 16 square meters) and three-rooms type (Indoor area of approximately 22 square meters). The question “is a room of 8.5 square meters suitable for single or newly married couples?” has often been raised by the citizens and there is an absolute relationship between size of area and rents, so “Taipei City Public Rental Houses dwelling units simulation Exhibition” has been hosted to resolve this problem. The model houses shown in the exhibition teaches visitors how to use small spaces efficiently. The exhibition allows the visitors to express their ideas on public rental housing through moving the furniture around and/or sticking Post-it note onto the wall.
