The seminars of “When the railway crosses Taipei City” and “Marathon of Xinmen Stories” invite you to experience old Taipei
Want to know how Taipei Railway influences the development of Ximending and the surrounding area of Taipei Brewery? Then you shouldn’t miss the seminars “When the railway crosses Taipei City” and “Marathon of Xinmen Stories”.
Taipei City Urban Regeneration Office (URO) pointed out that the history of Taipei Railway is closely related to the development of Taipei City. To provide the public with the opportunity to experience the history of Taipei Railway, a series of events “Legend of Taipei Railway” are organized form September to November. URO hopes by doing so, the government will be able to discuss the public areas along the railway with the public.
URO further pointed out that two fabulous seminars were hosted on October 5th (Sat.). The seminar “When the railway crosses Taipei City” was hosted in conference room of 6F of Taipei Brewery (No. 85, Section 2, Bade Rd, Taipei City) from 2pm to 4pm. The seminar was presented by the professor of National Taipei University of Technology, Kun-Zhen Zhang. He showed the participants how cityscape along the railway has changed from the past.
Due to the weather condition, the venue of the seminar “Marathon of Xinmen Stories” had been moved to Zhongshan Hall’s Taipei Lecture Hall (3F, Zhongshan Hall, No. 98, Yanping South Rd, Taipei City). The seminar was hosted from 6pm to 8pm on the same day. The organizer had invited many professionals and scholars, such as the professor of Chung Yuan Christian College, Zhao-Qing Yu, Chief Secretary of Institute of Historical Resources Management, Taiwan, Ruhua Qiu, and Director of Taipei Film Commission, Zijuan Rao. During the seminar, the lecturers shared their valuable memories and stories of Ximending in different perspectives.
