Make a “Green and Cultural Innovative” Taipei, Department of Urban Development of Taipei City Government is expected to announce “2013 International Co-workshop by University/NPO Grant Program” at the end of February
2013 International Co-workshop by University/NPO Grant Program, organized by the Department of Urban Development (UDD) of Taipei City Government, is about to start its application at the end of February. The theme of this year will be set as “Green Ecology” and “Cultural Innovation”. It is expected that up to six international teams will be selected. UDD hopes the new innovative ideas for urban development, the concept of urban space transformation and design, and the framework of follow-up implementations will be conceived through the cooperation and idea exchanges between domestic schools, NPOs and international teams. By doing so, not only will Taipei get a better vision on international urban planning and design, but also Taipei’s urban development experiences can be promoted to the rest of the world.
UDD expressed that “Green Ecology” and “Cultural Innovation” will be set as the theme of this year’s project. The theme “Green Ecology” focuses on the urban planning of green exteriors and green roofs, which is a concept of beautifying the urban landscapes by making both newly-built and existing buildings green and ecological. The theme “Cultural Innovation” focuses on two research objectives, which are “Taipei Railway Workshop – Cultural Preservation and Adaptive Reuse” and “Taipei Architecture”. Both domestic and foreign professionals will be able to propose new innovative ideas by viewing the Taipei City based on the currently existing culture, landscape and urban style, and these ideas will hopefully be implemented in the future planning of Taipei’s urban space.
The project for this year will be planned carefully while upholding the ideas of better international communication and cooperation. The application guideline will be posted online at the end of February.
